Privacy Policy
Zinga — a services marketplace for the New York City area.
Last updated: August 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Zinga (“Zinga,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the Zinga app and the website at zingaapp.com. Zinga connects service providers in the New York City area — including auto services, barber and beauty, photography, and massage — with customers who want to book them.
1. Information we collect
- Provider information. Business or provider name, contact details (email address, phone number), service category, location or service area, and content you submit such as photos, descriptions, and pricing.
- Customer information. Name and contact details (email address, phone number) needed to create an account, request a booking, and communicate with a provider.
- Instagram business messaging data. If you contact Zinga through Instagram, we receive messaging data via the Meta (Instagram) API — the Instagram-scoped user ID (IGSID), your Instagram username, and the content and timestamps of the messages exchanged with our business account. This is used solely to read and reply to conversations you have started with us.
- Usage and device data. Basic technical information such as access logs, IP address, and device or browser type, collected to operate and secure the service.
2. How we use information
- To create and manage provider and customer accounts.
- To facilitate bookings and communication between customers and providers.
- To read and respond to messages you send us, including via Instagram.
- To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Zinga service.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. How we share information
We share a provider’s listing information with customers so they can discover and book services, and we share the details necessary to complete a booking between the customer and the provider involved. We may share information with service providers that help us operate Zinga (for example, hosting and infrastructure vendors), and where required by law.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share Instagram messaging data with third parties for advertising or resale.
4. Data storage and security
Information is stored on secured, access-controlled infrastructure operated by Zinga and its hosting providers. We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal requirements. We apply reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect information, though no system can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure.
5. Instagram / Meta data
Our use of data received from the Meta (Instagram) API follows Meta’s Platform Terms and Developer Policies. We access only the Instagram conversations that users start with our business account, and we use that data only to read and respond to those conversations. You may revoke this access at any time by ending or deleting the conversation on Instagram, or by requesting deletion as described below.
6. Your rights and choices
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. To delete your data, see our Data Deletion instructions. You may also contact us at any time using the details below.
7. Children’s privacy
Zinga is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
